Small Town Lab Verdal is a way to increase participation and cooperation with citizens for an attractive and sustainable development of the community.
In our pilot period we have choosen two projects where we will test the Small Town Lab methodology:
Liveable public town square and Life and activities along the riverbank
The town square “Minsaas plass” was for decades the heart of the city. Verdal would now like to vitalize the town square to make it the preferred meeting place for citizens of all ages. In the process, we would like to experiment with different types of activities and with different physical elements – all in cooperation with citizens and businesses.
Our second project is to develop the riverbank promenade into an area with life and activity that connects the town centre with the surrounding nature and villages. This is an area with easy access and a great potential for low threshold activity, which is important for the public health. As part of this process we have challenged the secondary school to make models of their ideas for the development of the riverbank prominade.
