Mosfellsbær wants to use the Small TownLab methodology to make it´s town more attractive for citizens and visitors.
The Small TownLab implementation of Mosfellsbær will be making of a meeting place for citizens in the town hall building.

We want to make a platform to get information easily to citizens and visitors, and to reach out to citizens and call for public participation. This will be an experiment, which can be continued, changed and improved, or cancelled, depending on result
Our experiment seeks to answer the following questions:
• How can we make town centers more livable and interesting for citizens
• How can we increase public democracy and participation for decision making.
• How to use public democracy and involvement to make more attractive towns.
• How can the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals be used to promote sustainable town development

Possibilities of a meeting place for citizens are many, such as:
• Information and educational material to citizens
• Tourist information
• Introduction of planning documents
• Large aerial photo of town – „find your house“
• Introduction of services of the administration
• Location of meetings and conferences
• Surveys and poll
• Open for public – welcoming
• Co-operation with library, service center and
administration

The meeting place is being developed and organized and should be ready in spring or early summer. The meeting place will be run in conjunction with the public library with the assistance of the service center.
